The Nixa Placemaking Demonstration provided an opportunity for the community to re-imagine a better downtown Nixa as a community hub that supports the local economy, social interaction, and community pride.

The Nixa Placemaking Demonstration featured temporary improvements including art installations, landscaping, outdoor seating, a crosswalk street mural, and a new "pocket park". The demonstration was up for 90 days, from September 10th through December 10th, and was kicked off with a street festival that featured live musical performances, yard games, and food trucks.
